THE SHER'S GO BLUE

"The Sher’s Go Blue”! In the great tradition of father and son guitar duos: Jimmy and Doug Rainey, Bucky and John Pizzarelli and Doc and Merle Watson, we have a new team: Ben and Emmett Sher! On the Sher’s Go Blue Ben and Emmett perform on two instruments from the Blue Guitar Collection, the most important archtop guitar collection in the world, commissioned originally by Scott Chinnery. This collection was on display at the Smithsonian Museum of Natural History in 1997and at Metropolitan Museum of Art in 2011. After Chinnery’s passing the collection was acquired by the Archtop Foundation, whose purpose is share the sounds of these guitars. On this recording, we venture into a wide variety of styles: gypsy jazz, Brazilian, be-bop and  blues.
